Nikolskoye
The single village on the northwest shore is the only place where streets appear, a small, dense mark set against the long, otherwise open outline of the island.

Bering Island Map Poster & Print
Bering Island is the largest of the Commander Islands, lying east of Kamchatka where the Bering Sea meets the Pacific. It stretches roughly northwest to southeast, broad and low in the north, narrower and more mountainous toward the south. On a map it is almost empty of lines: a few tracks, scattered lakes and streams, and a coastline shaped by capes and wide bays.
The only permanent settlement is Nikolskoye, on the northwest coast, where the island's few streets are gathered. The rest belongs to the Komandorsky Nature Reserve, which protects seabird colonies, fur seals and sea otters. That emptiness is the character of the map: a long silhouette of land, finely edged, with ocean pressing in on both sides.
The island takes its name from Vitus Bering, who died here in 1741 after his ship was wrecked on the return voyage from Alaska. The naturalist Georg Steller, stranded with him, described the sea cow later named after him, hunted to extinction within decades. A Bering Island map poster is a quiet object about a remote and consequential piece of coast.

Northern lowlands
The broader northern part of the island is low tundra, dotted with lakes and threaded by streams. On the poster these small water shapes give texture to an open interior.
Mountainous south
Toward the southeast the island narrows and rises into hills, with the coast cut into steep capes. The outline grows sharper and more angular as it tapers into the Pacific.

Një hartë me kuptim
Few people ever reach Bering Island, which is part of its appeal. The poster suits anyone with a connection to Kamchatka, to the history of Arctic exploration or to the wildlife of the North Pacific, and it reads as a single strong outline on a clean wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with the year 1741 or an expedition name, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. HD files are $9, and printed posters ship from partners in over 30 countries.
