Lavras Map Poster & Print
Lavras lies among the rolling hills of southern Minas Gerais, and on a map its streets rarely run straight for long. The centre sits on uneven ground, with roads climbing ridges and dropping into small valleys, and newer neighbourhoods spread outward along the slopes. Farmland, patches of woodland and stream valleys fill the countryside between the town and its neighbours.
The town is best known for the Federal University of Lavras, a leading institution in agricultural sciences, whose campus covers a large area on the edge of town. The university brings a large student population and ties Lavras closely to farming and research across a region known for coffee and dairy.
A Lavras map poster traces a town adapting to its terrain. It shows irregular blocks around the older centre, winding streets that follow the contours and the campus as a distinct open zone of paths, research fields and buildings. The result is calm and organic, quite unlike the grids of planned cities.

Streets on slopes
Roads bend around the hills rather than cutting across them, which gives the urban area a soft, curving texture that reflects the uneven ground beneath it.
Older centre
The older centre is the densest cluster of short, irregular streets, and from there the town has grown outward over the surrounding hills.
