Puerto Berrío Map Poster & Print
Puerto Berrío stands on the west bank of the Magdalena River, Colombia's main river, in the warm lowlands of Antioquia. The map is dominated by the river itself, a broad channel with islands and side branches. The town's grid runs along the bank, and wetlands and open land spread out behind it.
The town was founded as Antioquia's river port. In the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries it became the end of the Antioquia Railway, which linked Medellín with the Magdalena and, through it, to the Caribbean coast. Goods and people moved between train and boat here, and the town took shape around that connection.
A Puerto Berrío map poster shows the meeting of land and water that created the town: the wide river, the street grid on its bank and the rail and road lines heading inland. It is a clear, strong design in black and white, and a meaningful piece for anyone with roots in the Magdalena Medio.

Riverside grid
The streets form a regular grid facing the water. It is densest near the riverbank, where the port and the old railway once met.
Lowland wetlands
Marshes and open land lie around the town, crossed by few roads. That open space gives the river town a clear, simple outline.
