Ulan Bator Map Poster & Print
Ulan Bator is shaped by its valley. The Mongolian capital stretches for many kilometres from east to west along the Tuul River, squeezed between mountain ridges to the north and south. On a map the central districts form a fairly regular Soviet-era plan around Sükhbaatar Square, while Peace Avenue runs through the whole length of the city like a spine.
North of the centre, the pattern changes completely. Ger districts cover the slopes with small fenced plots and narrow lanes, producing a fine, dense texture that looks almost like woven fabric from above. To the south, the Bogd Khan mountain rises as an empty green mass, protected for centuries and often cited as one of the oldest nature reserves in the world.
It is also frequently described as the coldest national capital on Earth, with long winters and a short, bright summer. An Ulan Bator map poster shows this setting with unusual clarity: the braided river channels, the straight avenues of the centre, the scattered hillside plots and the mountain wall that frames everything.

Peace Avenue
The main east–west thoroughfare crosses almost the entire city, passing close to Sükhbaatar Square and tying together districts that spread along the valley floor.
Ger districts
On the northern hills, thousands of small fenced plots create a dense, irregular grain, one of the most distinctive street textures of any capital city.
