Roads shaped by hills
Main roads curve over ridges and drop into valleys instead of running straight. This gives the poster a flowing, hand-drawn look very different from a gridded suburb.

Wolcott Map Poster & Print
Wolcott is in the hills of western Connecticut, just northeast of Waterbury. There is no single dense centre. The map shows roads following the terrain, curving around ridges and down into small valleys, with residential streets branching off in cul-de-sacs and loops. Patches of woodland and water fill much of the space between neighbourhoods, which gives the town a green, broken-up outline.
The town is known as the birthplace of Amos Bronson Alcott, the educator and transcendentalist and the father of Louisa May Alcott. Wolcott grew as a farming community and later became a residential town linked to the industrial valleys nearby. Its roads still follow older routes over the high ground, so the street pattern reads as organic rather than planned.
A Wolcott map poster shows a small-town New England layout: country roads that bend with the contours, clusters of homes along them, and open ground in between. It is a quiet, balanced image, suited to someone who grew up there, commutes from there, or simply likes the look of a town shaped by its hills.

Reservoirs and ponds
Bodies of water sit among the wooded hills, breaking up the street network with smooth open shapes that stand out clearly in every style.
Residential loops
Newer neighbourhoods branch off the older through-roads in short loops and dead ends, forming small clusters of detail scattered across the town.
