River confluence
The Siyom and Yomgo rivers meet near the town, and their channels form the strongest lines on the map, dividing and framing the built-up area.

Mapa
Along Map Poster & Print
Along, now officially called Aalo, is the headquarters of West Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh. It sits in a valley in the eastern Himalayan foothills, at the confluence of the Siyom and Yomgo rivers. On the map, the rivers shape everything: the town gathers on the flatter land beside the water, and streets climb up the slopes where the terrain allows.
The layout does not follow a grid. Roads curve along riverbanks and contour lines, and bridges connect the different parts of town across the water. Beyond the built-up area, forested hills rise steeply on every side, so the settlement looks like a small patch of streets held in a fold of the mountains.
An Along map poster shows a town whose form comes directly from its landscape. It suits people from the district, those who have worked or studied there, and travellers who have made the long road journey through the Siang valley to reach it.

Valley streets
Roads follow the riverbanks and bend with the slopes, creating a winding, contour-shaped street pattern that is typical of mountain towns.
Forested hills
Steep wooded hills surround the valley on all sides and appear as wide open space on the poster, emphasising how enclosed the town is.
