Waterfront settlement
The town is built right up to the water. The street pattern stops abruptly at a shoreline, and that shoreline becomes the strongest line on the poster.

Anori Map Poster & Print
Anori lies in the interior of Amazonas state, in the lowlands near the Solimões, the name used in Brazil for the upper Amazon. The town sits on a patch of firm ground beside the water. From above, its short streets look small next to the lakes, channels and forest that surround it on every side. There are few roads here, and most travel between towns in the region still happens by boat.
In this part of the Amazon the water rises and falls by several metres over the year, so the line between land and river moves with the seasons. A map captures one moment of that cycle: a single shoreline, a set of channels and some wetlands. People who live here know those shapes change between the high-water and low-water months.
An Anori map poster is less about a street plan than about how a small settlement sits within a very large landscape. The town becomes a compact knot of lines, and the water and forest edges fill the rest of the frame. The print ends up with an unusual balance of fine detail and open space, which gives it a character of its own.

Lakes and channels
The map around the town is full of lakes, side channels and flooded ground typical of the Amazon floodplain. These irregular shapes read clearly in black and white.
Forest all around
Beyond the water is continuous rainforest with very few roads. It leaves large quiet areas in the composition and shows how remote the town is.

Zašto Anori
Mapa koja nešto znači
Anori rarely appears on printed maps, and that is part of why a map of it matters to the people connected to it. The poster works for people from the town, for those who have worked or travelled on the Solimões, and for anyone drawn to river landscapes.
You can edit the title, subtitle and coordinates line and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint tends to suit maps with a lot of water. Order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame, or download the HD files for $9.
