From above, Bamba reads as a small cluster rather than a grid. A handful of main roads run through the town, and a finer web of lanes and compound walls fills the space between them. Toward the edges the lines thin out quickly, and the map gives way to open ground where only a few tracks continue.
Towns like this in Mali grew around markets, crossroads and water, not surveyors' plans. That shows on the map as uneven blocks, curving tracks and open spaces where people meet and trade. The streets follow habit and terrain more than geometry, so the pattern is irregular in a way that feels lived-in rather than planned.

At the edge of town the line work fades into tracks and empty space. That blank margin is part of the image and frames the settlement as a small, self-contained place.
