Valley setting
The town follows a river valley between low hills. The terrain gives its streets gentle curves instead of a strict grid.

Mapa
Bavly Map Poster & Print
Bavly is a town in the south-east of Tatarstan, close to the border with Bashkortostan. The landscape is made of low, rolling hills and river valleys. The town sits in one of these valleys and follows the lie of the land rather than a single master plan. The district has been part of Tatarstan's oil industry since the middle of the twentieth century.
On a map Bavly shows several layers at once. Older streets of houses with gardens follow the valley floor and slopes. Blocks of mid-century apartment buildings form tighter, more geometric clusters. A railway line crosses the area, and roads lead out across the fields toward neighbouring towns in the oil region.
The Bavly map poster balances these layers. The curve of the valley and the straight line of the railway give the composition its structure. The open land around the town stays quiet, so Bavly appears as a clear, slightly irregular shape at the centre of the sheet, framed by fields.

Railway line
A railway runs through Bavly and cuts a long, steady line across the map. It contrasts with the softer shapes of the valley and the residential streets.
Mixed street fabric
Detached houses with long garden plots sit next to compact apartment blocks. This gives the map two distinct textures side by side.
