Veluwe edge
On the eastern side the street pattern fades into woodland and heath, where paths wander through the trees instead of following straight lines.

Mapa
Bennekom Map Poster & Print
Bennekom lies in Gelderland, part of the municipality of Ede, just north of Wageningen. On a map it is a village of two landscapes. To the east the streets meet the forested sandy ridge of the Veluwe, while to the west the ground drops into the Binnenveld, a low, open area of meadows and drainage ditches. The village itself fills the transition between them.
Unlike the strict grids of many Dutch polder towns, Bennekom has a looser, organic plan. Older lanes curve through the centre, and later residential neighbourhoods fill in around them with crescents, cul-de-sacs and green strips. Wooded plots and gardens break up the built area, so the pattern reads as airy rather than dense. A Bennekom map poster shows that gentle, meandering texture in fine black lines.
The village has long been a residential place, favoured for its green setting and its closeness to Wageningen, with its university and research campus. Roads and cycle routes lead south toward that town and north toward Ede, and on a map they frame Bennekom between forest, field and neighbouring towns.

Binnenveld meadows
West of the village, the low Binnenveld is crossed by long, straight ditches and field boundaries, a flat geometric contrast to the curving streets of the village.
Curving village core
The older centre is built around bending lanes rather than a grid, and the newer neighbourhoods around it keep that softer, rounded character.
