Railway alignment
The line through town sets the main axis of the grid, a reminder that Breyten grew as a stop on the network serving the highveld's farms and mines.

Breyten Map Poster & Print
Breyten is a small town on the Mpumalanga highveld, in the Msukaligwa municipality north of Ermelo. The land around it is high, rolling grassland dotted with wetlands and shallow pans, and the town sits in it as a compact rectangle of streets. A railway line passes through, and the map shows the town's layout organised around it, with a separate township area laid out nearby.
The town developed as a railway and farming centre, and coal mining later became important in the wider district. This part of the highveld is also known for its lakes and pans, and the Chrissiesmeer area nearby draws birdwatchers. On the map, water appears as small irregular shapes scattered across the grassland, a pattern that gives the plain its character.
A Breyten map poster keeps things simple: straight streets, the railway, the roads heading toward Ermelo, Carolina and Chrissiesmeer, and the pans in between. In black and white the town becomes a precise geometric form set in an open field, a spare image with a lot of air around it.

Highveld pans
Shallow lakes and wetlands are scattered across the countryside around the town. They appear as small irregular shapes that break the long lines of fields and farm roads.
Regular town blocks
The streets form a compact, orderly grid with clear edges. It is readable at a glance and strong enough to hold the centre of a large print.

Zašto Breyten
Mapa koja nešto znači
Small highveld towns rarely get their own maps on a wall, yet they hold real memories for the people who grew up there, worked on the farms and mines, or passed through by train. A Breyten poster gives the town that recognition.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a family name, a year or a farm. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are available through partners in more than 30 countries.
