St. Lawrence shore
The river and the La Prairie Basin form a wide expanse of water along the town's northern side. They give the poster a strong, uncluttered edge.

Mapa
Candiac Map Poster & Print
Candiac sits on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, across from Montreal, on the edge of the La Prairie Basin. On a map, the shoreline forms a clean edge to the north. The town is laid out behind it in the looping streets and crescents of a mid-twentieth-century planned suburb. Highways 15 and 30 cross the area and mark out its larger structure.
The town was founded in the 1950s as a planned community. It takes its name from Candiac, the estate in southern France where the Marquis de Montcalm was born. That origin still shows in the street pattern. Instead of a strict grid, the streets form a sequence of curves and closed loops, designed to keep through traffic out of the residential areas.
A Candiac map poster emphasises the organic, almost drawn quality of those planned streets against the broad water of the St. Lawrence. Highway corridors add firm straight lines, and open land between the neighbourhoods keeps the composition airy. It is a considered, balanced map, well suited to a modern interior.

Planned crescents
Residential streets curve into loops and crescents rather than a grid. This reflects the town's origin as a planned suburb in the 1950s.
Highway corridors
Autoroutes 15 and 30 cross the area in long, confident lines. Their interchanges add a few precise geometric shapes to an otherwise flowing layout.
