Mapa
Castaic Map Poster & Print
Castaic is an unincorporated community in northwestern Los Angeles County, just beyond Santa Clarita. Its map is shaped by the land around it. Neighbourhoods fill the canyon floors and lower slopes, while steep, empty hills rise all around. Interstate 5 runs north through the area toward the mountain pass that leads to the Central Valley.
The main landmark is Castaic Lake, a large reservoir held back by a dam just north of town. Its branching arms reach into the surrounding canyons, and a smaller lagoon sits below the dam. On a map, the water forms irregular fingers of open space that stand out sharply against the fine residential streets to the south.
A Castaic map poster brings together curving cul-de-sac neighbourhoods, the strong line of the interstate and the branching shape of the lake. The surrounding hills are left mostly blank, which makes the developed areas look like islands in the terrain. It is a Southern California map where the land sets the rules.

Interstate 5
The freeway runs north through the valley toward the mountain pass. It is a bold, continuous line that ties the composition together.
Canyon neighbourhoods
Residential streets curve through the valley floors and foothills. Their dense loops contrast with the empty, rugged hillsides around them.
