Mapa
Castlereagh Map Poster & Print
Castlereagh covers the south-eastern edge of greater Belfast, where the city's terraces give way to suburban estates and then to open country. On a map the streets are densest in the low ground nearest the city. They loosen as they climb, with cul-de-sacs and winding avenues following the slope up toward the Castlereagh Hills.
The area was long a borough in its own right and has been part of Lisburn and Castlereagh since local government reform in 2015. From the higher ground there are wide views back over Belfast and the lough. On the poster the ridge shows as the point where suburban roads end and field boundaries take over.
A Castlereagh map poster shows the transition from city to countryside in one frame. It includes the main arterial roads running out of Belfast, the curving estates in between and the rural lanes above. In black and white the gradual thinning of the street pattern gives the print a sense of height, although the map itself is flat.

Curving estates
Post-war and later housing is laid out in loops, crescents and cul-de-sacs, a softer and more intricate texture than the city's terraces.
Castlereagh Hills
Toward the edge of the map the streets give way to the hills, where only scattered lanes and field boundaries remain.
