Crowborough Map Poster & Print
Crowborough stands in the High Weald of East Sussex, among the highest towns in the county, on a ridge that looks out over wooded valleys. The town grew largely in the Victorian period, when the railway and the reputation of its upland air drew new residents, and its plan reflects that: broad roads, large plots, and neighbourhoods scattered along the high ground.
To the west lies Ashdown Forest, the open heathland that inspired the Hundred Acre Wood of A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh stories. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle spent the last decades of his life at Windlesham Manor in Crowborough, and a statue of the creator of Sherlock Holmes stands in the town.
On a Crowborough map poster, the town appears as a network of roads threading across the ridge, with patches of green and woodland breaking into its edges. The forest boundary gives the composition an open side, while the main roads meeting in the centre hold the rest of the design together.

Ridge-top centre
The town centre sits high on the Weald, with roads spreading outward along the ridges, a layout shaped by the rise and fall of the land.
Victorian avenues
Wide, gently curving roads lined with large houses reflect the town's growth as an upland retreat, giving the map a spacious, leafy character.
