Damascus Map Poster & Print
Damascus is a community in the northern part of Montgomery County, Maryland, toward the county's upper edge. Unlike the dense suburbs closer to Washington, it lies near the county's agricultural areas, which were set aside to protect farmland and open space. That gives the map a clear boundary, with houses on one side and fields on the other.
The centre grew up around a crossroads of state highways, and the town's older commercial strip lies along these roads. Out from there, residential areas follow the pattern of American suburban growth: curving streets, loops and cul-de-sacs fitted between stream valleys. Wooded stream corridors and parkland cut through the neighbourhoods and link them to the countryside.
A Damascus map poster shows a community on the edge between suburb and country. The dense curves of residential streets stop at open fields and the wooded valleys of local creeks. Seen together in black and white, this gives the print both detail and space, with a clear sense of where the suburbs end.

Curving subdivisions
Loops and cul-de-sacs fill the residential areas with rounded, branching shapes. They are typical of suburban Maryland and very different from the straight rural roads.
Stream valleys and farmland
Wooded creek corridors pass between neighbourhoods, and farmland opens beyond the edge of town. Together they frame the community with generous open space.
