Danta is a small town in Rajasthan, in the north-west of India, set in the semi-arid country of the Shekhawati region. Its map shows the typical form of an older north Indian town: a dense cluster of narrow lanes and closely packed houses at the centre, with a few wider roads leading out toward neighbouring towns and the surrounding fields.
