Désarmes Map Poster & Print
Désarmes lies in the Artibonite department of Haiti, in the broad valley that is the country's most important farming region. It belongs to the commune of Verrettes, and its layout is shaped less by planning than by the land: houses and small clusters of buildings follow roads and tracks, with fields and plots filling the space between them.
The Artibonite, the longest river on the island of Hispaniola, drains this valley, and irrigation has long made the area a centre of rice growing. On a map the effect is a landscape of fine divisions, where roads, channels and field edges create a network of lines around settlements like Désarmes. The shape of the place is spread out and organic, a direct record of rural life.
A Désarmes map poster captures that informal pattern with clarity. Instead of a dense grid, it shows threads of road linking groups of houses, and a surrounding landscape shaped by farming. The result is quiet and distinctive, a map that speaks directly to people who know the valley and its daily routes.

Scattered settlement
Buildings gather along roads and tracks rather than in tight blocks. From above this creates a loose, branching pattern quite unlike the grids of planned towns.
Farming landscape
Fields, plots and irrigation lines divide the land around the settlement. They add fine detail to the edges of the map and reflect the valley's long agricultural tradition.
