Draa el Mizan is a town in the Tizi Ouzou province of northern Algeria, in the hilly country of Kabylie. From above, the relief shapes the map: the town sits on the uneven ground of foothills, and its streets follow the land instead of forming a regular grid, curving around slopes and gathering on flatter shelves where building is easier.
Around the town, roads wind through ridges and valleys, connecting Draa el Mizan to villages scattered across the hills, many of them built along the crests in the typical Kabyle way.
