Duaca is the capital of Crespo Municipality in the Venezuelan state of Lara, set in hilly country north of Barquisimeto. On the map the town appears as a compact grid adjusted to its terrain. A central square sits at its heart, and the streets extend along the valley before they bend and break up where the ground begins to rise.
The surrounding landscape is agricultural, with farms and small settlements scattered through the hills. Roads leave town along valleys and ridges and curve far more than the streets of the centre. They give the edges of the poster a looser, winding character that balances the regular blocks in the middle and places the town firmly in its setting.
