Mapa
Ducheng Map Poster & Print
Ducheng is the seat of Yunan County in western Guangdong. The terrain here is hilly and heavily vegetated, and settlements follow the valleys. On a map the town appears as a compact built-up area along a river. Its streets are shaped by the water and the rising ground on either side, rather than by a strict grid.
The surrounding landscape is one of forested hills, farmland on the valley floors and roads threading through gaps in the terrain. The older part of town is densely packed near the river. Newer districts extend along the main roads where the valley allows. Beyond the edge of town, the map quickly turns quieter as the hills take over.
A Ducheng map poster is a study in how a town fits its topography. The river gives the composition a flowing line, the streets gather tightly along it, and the empty space of the hills frames everything. The result is modest, well proportioned and specific to this corner of Guangdong.

Valley-bound streets
Instead of a grid, the street network follows the valley floor. It stretches along the easiest ground between the surrounding slopes.
Wooded hills
Hills close in around the town and leave broad areas with few roads. That gives the poster generous negative space and a strong sense of setting.
