Mapa
Earlsfield Map Poster & Print
Earlsfield lies in the London Borough of Wandsworth, between Wandsworth Town, Tooting and Wimbledon. Its map is dominated by rows of Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses, set in long, parallel streets that run up the gentle slopes on either side of the Wandle valley. Garratt Lane follows the valley floor, carrying buses and shops through the heart of the area.
The River Wandle, a tributary of the Thames, runs through Earlsfield in a narrow green corridor, and the main railway line from Waterloo crosses the area with Earlsfield station at its centre. Around the terraces, Magdalen Park and Wandsworth Cemetery add larger open blocks to an otherwise dense residential pattern.
An Earlsfield map poster suits a neighbourhood people know street by street. The parallel terraces create an even rhythm, the river and railway cut through it in contrasting lines, and the park and cemetery leave calm open spaces. It works especially well for a first flat or a family house in the area.
