Mapa
Enfield Lock Map Poster & Print
Enfield Lock sits in the northeast corner of the London Borough of Enfield, where the city meets the Lee Valley. On a map the east is dominated by water: the River Lea, the Lee Navigation with its lock and the large reservoirs beyond. To the west, terraced streets and later housing fill neat blocks up to the railway line and the main road.
The area is best known as the site of the Royal Small Arms Factory, which gave its name to the Lee-Enfield rifle. The old factory buildings on the island between the waterways have since been converted to homes and workplaces. Today the valley forms part of Lee Valley Park, a long green corridor of towpaths, marshes and open water.
An Enfield Lock map poster captures that meeting point between suburban London and its river valley. The fine grid of terraces sits next to the long lines of channels and the broad shapes of the reservoirs, and the result is a map that is both urban and open, with a clear story to tell.
