Esplugues de Llobregat Map Poster & Print
Esplugues de Llobregat borders Barcelona to the west, just beyond the Pedralbes district and the western end of the Avinguda Diagonal. The town climbs from lower ground toward the wooded hills of Collserola. Its streets mix steep, winding roads on the slopes with denser blocks on the flatter land, and motorways and ring roads wrap around its edges.
The town has a long ceramics tradition. The Pujol i Bausis factory produced tiles used in many modernista buildings in Barcelona, and the Can Tinturé museum is devoted to decorative tiles. Esplugues is also home to the Sant Joan de Déu children's hospital, one of the best-known paediatric centres in Spain, which occupies a large site near the Barcelona boundary.
An Esplugues de Llobregat map poster shows the fine grain of a metropolitan town. You can see an old centre of narrow streets, later apartment districts, schools and hospitals on large plots, and the green edge of the hills. In black and white, the tight urban fabric sits against the sweeping curves of the highways, which gives the map a busy, layered look.

Historic centre
The original village core has short, irregular streets around the church. This small, dense pattern contrasts with the larger blocks built later.
Motorway ring
Ring roads and motorways surround the town. Their broad curves and interchanges draw strong lines along the boundaries with Barcelona and the neighbouring municipalities.
