Mapa
Forest Hills Map Poster & Print
Forest Hills lies on the eastern side of the Grand Rapids area in Kent County, Michigan. It isn't a traditional town with a main street and a grid; on the map, it appears as a wide suburban area of winding roads, loops and cul-de-sacs laid out across gently rolling, wooded land. The main section-line roads of the Midwest survey cut across it in straight lines.
That contrast is the most striking thing about the map. The long, straight roads following the old survey grid form a large framework, and within each square mile the residential streets curve freely, bending around hills, ponds and patches of woodland. The result is a pattern of large squares filled with soft, organic shapes.
A Forest Hills map poster shows a very American landscape: the geometry of the survey grid overlaid with the curving streets of postwar and later suburbs. Many people know the area through its schools and neighbourhoods, and the map lets them find their own street among the loops and cul-de-sacs.

Curving subdivisions
Within the grid, residential streets bend into loops and dead ends, creating a soft, repeated texture that contrasts with the straight main roads.
Wooded land
Stretches of woodland and open space remain between neighbourhoods, leaving blank areas that give the dense streets room on the page.

Zašto Forest Hills
Mapa koja nešto znači
For families who have lived here for years or have just moved in, finding their own cul-de-sac on the map is part of the pleasure. The pattern of curves inside straight lines makes an attractive, almost abstract print.
Add a family name to the title, a move-in date to the subtitle or your home's coordinates to the bottom line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
