Rail line downtown
The commuter tracks cut a straight line across the map, and the historic shopping streets cluster right beside the station. This alignment explains the layout of the whole village centre.

Glen Ellyn Map Poster & Print
Glen Ellyn is a village in DuPage County, about twenty-five miles west of the Chicago Loop. The commuter rail line to Chicago runs east to west through the middle of town, and the compact downtown grew up along it. Away from the tracks the grid relaxes into gently curving residential streets, shaped by the low, rolling land that sets this area apart from the flatter prairie nearby.
Just north of downtown lies Lake Ellyn, a small lake inside a park and a local landmark since the late nineteenth century. The village name comes from its founder, Thomas Hill, who named the place after his wife. In the south of town the College of DuPage campus stands out with large buildings, parking areas and open grounds.
A Glen Ellyn map poster shows the village as a set of clear layers: the straight rail corridor, the tight blocks of the old commercial centre, the soft curves of tree-lined streets and the quiet shape of the lake. It is a calm, domestic composition, typical of the older railroad suburbs around Chicago.

Lake Ellyn
A small lake in a park north of downtown gives the poster a soft, rounded shape among the streets. Its shoreline paths and surrounding blocks form one of the most recognisable parts of the map.
College campus
The College of DuPage campus in the south appears as a large area of broad buildings and open land. Its scale contrasts with the finer residential grid around it.
