Garden plots
Long, narrow household plots line many streets, and together they make a fine repeating pattern across the town that stands out clearly once colour is stripped away.

Mapa
Govlar Map Poster & Print
Govlar, also written Qovlar, is a town in Tovuz District in northwestern Azerbaijan. It lies on the low ground of the valley between the foothills of the Lesser Caucasus and the Kura. On the map it spreads across flat land in a loose, broad pattern: houses set in long garden plots, with farm roads and field boundaries continuing out from the edge of town.
That low, even setting gives the drawing a calm, horizontal feel. Streets run mostly straight across open ground, and the plots between them add a fine, repeated texture that is typical of towns in this agricultural corridor. There are no steep slopes to bend the lines, so the pattern of the settlement itself carries the design, from the main thoroughfares to the smaller lanes.
A Govlar map poster is a quiet reminder of home for people from Tovuz and for the many who have moved from here to Baku or abroad. It shows the town at the scale of daily life: the street where a house stands, the way to school, the road out toward the fields. In black and white the layout becomes a simple, readable portrait of the place.

Valley setting
The town sits on level valley ground in northwestern Azerbaijan, so its streets spread out evenly rather than climbing, which gives the whole composition a steady, horizontal balance.
Roads to the fields
At the edges of town the lanes turn into farm roads and field boundaries. On the map this reads as a gradual change from a settled centre to worked countryside.
