Mapa
Griffith Map Poster & Print
Griffith lies in Lake County, in the Calumet Region of northwest Indiana, within easy reach of Chicago. The town grew up where several railroad lines crossed, and that origin is still visible on the map. Straight tracks slice through the residential streets at different angles and divide the town into distinct wedges and blocks.
Between the tracks, the streets follow the Midwestern grid, with modest blocks of single-family houses, parks and schools. A preserved depot near the centre recalls the junction that gave Griffith its start. The land is flat throughout, typical of the old lake plain south of Lake Michigan, and the grid carries on to the edges of neighbouring communities.
A Griffith map poster shows the contrast between the orderly neighbourhood grid and the bold diagonals of the railroads, a pattern that gives the design strong structure even in plain black and white. It suits long-time residents, rail enthusiasts and anyone with roots in the Region, including families who moved out from Chicago over the decades.

Midwestern street grid
Between the tracks, residential streets follow a regular grid of rectangular blocks, a calm, even pattern that sets off the sharp diagonals of the railroads.
Preserved depot
Near the centre, a preserved railroad depot recalls the junction around which the town grew, a small but meaningful point for anyone who knows Griffith's story.
