Credit River valley
The river curves through Glen Williams and Georgetown, and the roads bend with it. It is the most organic line on a map otherwise shaped by concession roads.

Mapa
Halton Hills Map Poster & Print
Halton Hills is not one compact grid but a spread-out municipality west of Toronto. Its two main centres, Georgetown and Acton, sit several kilometres apart, and rural concession roads, woodlots and small hamlets such as Glen Williams and Limehouse fill the space between them. On a map this gives an unusual composition: two dense clusters linked by a regular rural grid.
The terrain gives the page some drama. The Niagara Escarpment runs through the municipality, and the Credit River winds through Georgetown and Glen Williams in a valley that street patterns have to work around. Newer subdivisions show the curving crescents typical of Ontario suburbs, while the older cores keep straighter, earlier streets close to the rail line.
A Halton Hills map poster shows the whole place at once: the historic mill village, the escarpment edge, Acton's old centre, once known as Leathertown for its large tannery, and Georgetown's mix of old and new neighbourhoods. It suits anyone who thinks of the municipality as a set of connected communities rather than one town.

Two town centres
Georgetown and Acton appear as two distinct clusters of streets. The rural land between them makes each centre's shape easy to read.
Concession grid
Outside the towns, long straight rural roads divide the land into large rectangles, an Ontario survey pattern that gives the map a steady, measured rhythm.
