Mapa
Hanfeng Map Poster & Print
Hanfeng is the central subdistrict of Kaizhou, a district in the northeast of Chongqing Municipality. Its present layout is largely a product of the Three Gorges Dam. As the reservoir rose, the old town was submerged and a new urban centre was built on higher ground. A dam on the local river now holds back Hanfeng Lake, the water at the heart of the town.
On a map the lake gives Hanfeng a soft, irregular centre, with newer streets laid out around its shores. The blocks are generally regular and planned, typical of towns rebuilt in recent decades, while the surrounding hills bend the outer roads into curves.
A Hanfeng map poster captures a town that is both old and very new: a long-standing settlement reshaped by one of the largest engineering projects of the modern era. The lake's outline sits in the middle of the frame, and the grid gathers around it.

Rebuilt street plan
The town was built largely anew. Its streets follow a planned layout with wide roads and regular blocks near the water.
Hill surroundings
Hilly country on all sides limits the town's spread. The outer roads curve along valleys and slopes.
