Hasuda is a city in eastern Saitama Prefecture, north of Tokyo. Its name means lotus field, which fits a landscape of low, wet ground and paddies. Today it is mostly a commuter town, with residents travelling south into the capital by train, while fruit growing and rice farming continue on the edges of the city.
The map shows a built-up core around the railway station, where streets are densest, and residential districts spreading out from it. Around them, the grid dissolves into irregular farm plots, small waterways and scattered houses. The rail line runs straight through the middle, the main organising line of the town.
