Mapa
Hongzhou Map Poster & Print
Hongzhou is a town in Liping County, in the Qiandongnan area of southeastern Guizhou, a hilly region with many Dong and Miao communities. Towns here grow where the valleys widen, and Hongzhou is no exception. On the map, the streets gather on flat ground along the water, and steep slopes rise immediately on every side.
The shape of the town follows the valley. Roads run parallel to the river and cross it at a few points, and the built-up area thins out quickly as the ground climbs. Beyond the town, narrow lanes switch back up the hillsides between terraced fields and woodland, reaching villages above.
A Hongzhou map poster is a study of a mountain settlement. In black and white, the concentrated valley floor and the winding roads above it produce a strong contrast: dense detail in the middle of the frame and sweeping, curving lines around the edges.

River crossings
The river runs through the town, and a few crossings link both banks. They are short, clear lines that tie the two halves of the settlement together.
Switchback roads
Outside the town, roads wind up the slopes in curves and hairpins towards villages and fields, drawing loose, looping lines around the poster.
