Mapa
Huangji Map Poster & Print
Huangji is a town in Tongshan District, part of the prefecture-level city of Xuzhou in northern Jiangsu. It lies on the wide, flat North China Plain northwest of Xuzhou's urban core, and on a map its compact centre appears as a small, dense cluster of blocks set within a far larger pattern of fields, villages and roads.
The landscape around it is shaped by agriculture. Roads and drainage channels run in long straight lines, dividing the plain into a regular grid of plots, and villages appear as small clusters scattered across it at fairly even intervals. This orderly pattern, repeated to the edges of the frame, gives the map a calm, almost geometric character.
Towns like Huangji rarely appear in guidebooks, yet they are home to tens of thousands of people and are changing quickly as Xuzhou grows. A Huangji map poster records the town as it is now, its central streets and the surrounding field pattern drawn in precise black lines, a quiet document of a place in transition.
