Estate crescents
Large housing areas from the mid-twentieth century fill the map with curving streets and closes. Their pattern is distinctive of planned post-war suburbs.

Huyton Map Poster & Print
Huyton is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley, Merseyside, just east of the Liverpool city boundary. From above, it mixes older village roads with large twentieth-century housing estates, where streets curve into crescents and closes. Major roads and the railway line to Manchester cross the area, and the M62 motorway runs close by to the north.
The town grew quickly in the middle of the twentieth century as housing was built for families from Liverpool. It is also known in political history as the constituency of Harold Wilson, who represented Huyton in Parliament for decades and served twice as Prime Minister. Parks and green spaces separate the town's districts.
A Huyton map poster reveals the texture of a post-war suburb in detail. Crescents and cul-de-sacs sit next to the straight lines of rail and main roads, and patches of open green ground give the page space to breathe. It is a clear, grounded portrait of a place that many Merseyside families have called home.

Rail line east
The railway between Liverpool and Manchester runs through Huyton. Its long, gentle curve crosses the residential streets as a strong line.
Green gaps
Parks and open ground separate the neighbourhoods and appear as calm, empty areas that balance the dense residential pattern around them.
