Ituiutaba sits in the Triângulo Mineiro, the western wedge of Minas Gerais where the land flattens into broad, open plains. The city itself is laid out mostly as a grid, with regular blocks around the centre and newer neighbourhoods extending the pattern outward in slightly different orientations.
Around the edges, the streets thin out into farmland, and the map shows long, straight roads heading off across the countryside towards neighbouring towns. Small streams cut shallow curves through some of the outer districts, softening the otherwise rectilinear layout and adding a few lines of green to the composition.
