Valley-shaped streets
The main streets follow the line of the valley, so the town has a softly curving outline rather than a square one, with buildings concentrated on the level ground.

Mapa
Jiachuan Map Poster & Print
Jiachuan is a town in the hilly north of Sichuan, in the uplands that rise toward the mountains between the Sichuan Basin and Shaanxi. Here the terrain decides almost everything. Settlements gather on the flatter land beside rivers, and roads wind along valleys instead of cutting straight across them. From above, Jiachuan appears as a compact cluster of streets inside a much larger landscape of slopes.
Maps of places like this are defined by contrast. A few main roads carry most of the traffic and connect the town to neighbouring villages, while smaller lanes branch off toward farmland and hillside homes. The pattern is irregular and entirely shaped by the land, which makes a Jiachuan map poster feel quite unlike the gridded plans of larger Chinese cities.
In black and white, curving roads and waterways become the main drawing, and the hills are left as quiet open space around them. The result is a small, readable portrait of a working town in rural Sichuan, the kind of place many families come from and many people remember long after they have moved to the city.

Winding hill roads
Roads leaving town climb and twist with the terrain. On the poster they become fine, looping lines that give the outer parts of the design movement and texture.
Open countryside
Much of the frame is farmland and hillside, which reads as light, uncluttered space and lets the compact centre stand out clearly at every print size.
