Juchitepec is a municipality in the State of Mexico, in the high country south-east of Mexico City. Its surroundings are volcanic. The land rises toward the Sierra Nevada, where Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl dominate the horizon on clear days. On a map, the town shows as a compact grid surrounded by fields and rural roads.
