Cantonment layout
Straight roads, large blocks and the open grounds of the military station give the map a spacious, planned quality that contrasts with the town beside it.

Kāmthi Map Poster & Print
Kāmthi lies about 15 kilometres northeast of Nagpur in Maharashtra, on the banks of the Kanhan river. It developed in the early nineteenth century as a British military cantonment, and the town still shows that division on its map: the cantonment with broad, straight roads and generous open ground, and the civil town with a much tighter mesh of lanes and markets.
The Kanhan curves along the edge of town, and its wide channel and banks show up as a strong natural line. Road and rail links run toward Nagpur, tying Kāmthi into the growing metropolitan area. The cantonment remains an army station today, and its parade grounds and barracks form the largest regular shapes in the plan, set apart from the crowded older quarters.
Kāmthi is also known for the Dragon Palace Temple, a Buddhist temple built with support from Japan that draws visitors from across the region. A Kāmthi map poster brings together the river, the military layout and the dense older town in clean black lines, a precise portrait of a place shaped by two centuries of history.

Kanhan river
The river bends along the town's edge, its broad channel forming a clear natural boundary and the most organic line in the composition.
Old town lanes
The civil town is a dense network of narrow streets and small blocks, which appears on the poster as a fine, closely woven texture.
