Langenhagen sits directly north of Hannover, and from above the boundary between the two is hard to see. Streets run on from the city without a break, then open into lower-density neighbourhoods, allotment gardens and farmland. The land is almost completely flat, so the map is shaped by infrastructure and planning rather than by hills or valleys.
