Mapa
Marion Map Poster & Print
Marion lies directly north-east of Cedar Rapids in eastern Iowa, and the two cities meet along a shared boundary. It was the original county seat of Linn County until the courthouse moved to Cedar Rapids in the early twentieth century. On a map the historic uptown forms a compact grid of blocks around a central square park.
Railway lines pass close to the uptown area, adding diagonal lines across the grid, and Indian Creek winds through the city with parks and trails along its banks. Beyond the older centre, the city has expanded in all directions, with residential streets arranged in curving layouts typical of later suburban growth.
A Marion map poster captures these layers: the square in the middle of the historic town, the grid spreading from it, the railway, the creek and the looser neighbourhoods on the edges. It is a clear portrait of a Midwestern town that grew into a suburban city while keeping its original centre.
