Mapa
Marion Map Poster & Print
Marion sits on the flat farmland of central Ohio, and from above it has the classic shape of a Midwestern county seat. A regular grid of streets surrounds the downtown and its courthouse. Several railway lines approach from different directions and cross near the centre, and industrial sites follow the tracks. Beyond the residential streets, large square fields begin almost at once.
Marion is best known as the hometown of Warren G. Harding, the twenty-ninth president. His house, from which he ran his front-porch campaign in 1920, and the circular marble Harding Memorial are the city's main landmarks. Marion also has a long industrial history: steam shovels built here helped dig the Panama Canal. Today the town hosts an annual popcorn festival.
A Marion map poster makes the logic of a railroad town easy to read. The grid gives it order, the diagonal rail lines cut across it, and the surrounding farmland provides an even, quiet background. It is a strong image for anyone who knows Marion, and a good example of the American Midwest seen from above.

Rail crossings
Several railway lines converge on Marion from different directions. Their long diagonal lines cut across the grid and give the poster a distinct structure.
Harding Memorial
The circular Harding Memorial sits in landscaped grounds south of the centre. On the map its curved paths stand out against the straight streets around it.
