Mapa
Martha's Vineyard Map Poster & Print
Martha's Vineyard lies off the southwest corner of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, separated from the mainland by Vineyard Sound. On a map it forms a rough triangle, with its main towns gathered in the northeast and a long, straight south shore facing the Atlantic.
That southern edge is the island's most distinctive feature: a chain of great ponds pushing inland, their mouths closed by narrow barrier beaches. Vineyard Haven, Oak Bluffs and Edgartown form the busiest part of the island, and Oak Bluffs is known for its small, ornate cottages clustered around a former Methodist camp meeting ground. At the western tip rise the clay cliffs of Aquinnah.
A Martha's Vineyard map poster moves from dense harbour towns to quiet farmland and ponds. Chappaquiddick sits across a narrow channel from Edgartown, and the fishing village of Menemsha lies on the western shore. The island also served as the setting for the film Jaws, filmed largely around Edgartown.
