Mehndāwal is a town in Sant Kabir Nagar district in the eastern part of Uttar Pradesh. It lies on the level alluvial plain that stretches across this part of northern India. With almost no relief to shape it, the town's map is defined by its roads, its dense centre and the farmland that surrounds it.
The core is a close-packed knot of lanes and small plots where most of the commerce takes place. From here, roads run out to neighbouring towns and villages, including the district headquarters at Khalilabad to the south.
