Diagonal rail line
The commuter railway to Chicago crosses the city at an angle. It is a strong diagonal that breaks the regular grid and gives the poster a sense of movement.

Mapa
Oak Forest Map Poster & Print
Oak Forest is a city in Cook County, Illinois, in the southern suburbs of Chicago. Its map follows the Midwestern pattern: a grid of long straight roads marking out square-mile sections, with residential streets filling the spaces between. Some neighbourhoods keep to the grid and others curve into loops and cul-de-sacs, so the map has two distinct textures.
A commuter rail line runs diagonally through the city to downtown Chicago. Its path cuts across the grid at an angle that stands out on the poster. Several main roads cross the city along the square-mile grid, anchoring the composition and connecting Oak Forest to neighbouring suburbs.
Large forest preserves lie within and around the city, and their woods and ponds form broad open spaces between the streets. A long-established county health campus also takes up a large site. An Oak Forest map poster brings out this balance of grid, rail and woodland, a quiet portrait of a Chicago suburb.
