Mapa
Orcutt Map Poster & Print
Orcutt is an unincorporated community in northern Santa Barbara County, on the southern edge of the Santa Maria Valley. From above, it spreads as a broad area of residential streets that curve around low hills, with the small historic core of Old Orcutt at its heart and larger subdivisions extending south toward the Solomon Hills. Highways and main roads link it closely with Santa Maria to the north.
The town grew in the early twentieth century with the oil industry and takes its name from William Warren Orcutt, a geologist associated with the region's early oil fields. Old Orcutt still keeps a compact main street from that era, while later decades brought the winding suburban neighbourhoods that now make up most of the map.
An Orcutt map poster shows the contrast between that small, straight-lined historic centre and the softer, flowing pattern of the hillside streets. In black and white the looping roads resemble contour lines, and the open land at the edges gives the composition a spacious feel.

Hillside subdivisions
Residential neighbourhoods curve around the low hills and canyons. Their looping streets and cul-de-sacs form flowing, organic shapes across the map.
Solomon Hills edge
To the south the streets give way to the Solomon Hills, where open slopes and scattered roads form an uncluttered boundary to the poster.
