Ōwa is a small town in the south-eastern part of Gunma Prefecture, on the northern edge of the Kantō Plain. The land here is almost completely flat, and the area lies close to the large rivers that drain the plain towards Tokyo Bay.
From above, the town shows the typical pattern of rural Kantō: clusters of houses along older roads, newer residential blocks laid out in small grids, and wide rectangles of rice paddies and fields between them. Irrigation channels draw thin lines across the farmland.
