Phoenixville is a borough in Chester County, Pennsylvania, northwest of Philadelphia. It sits where French Creek flows into the Schuylkill River, and both waterways shape the map. The downtown grid, centred on Bridge Street, rises from the creek valley, while residential streets climb the surrounding slopes. Valley Forge National Historical Park lies a short distance downstream.
The town grew around the Phoenix Iron Company, whose works along French Creek produced iron and later steel for bridges and buildings for more than a century. The industrial sites along the creek have since been largely cleared or reused. Phoenixville is also known for the Colonial Theatre, which appears in the 1958 film The Blob, an event the town celebrates every year with Blobfest.

The creek runs through the town to join the Schuylkill, past the former ironworks sites. Its narrow, winding course divides the downtown from the neighbourhoods to the north.
Bridge Street grid
