National Road
US 40 crosses the town in a single straight line as Main Street. It is the old east–west route that first put Plainfield on the map.

Mapa
Plainfield Map Poster & Print
Plainfield lies in Hendricks County, west of Indianapolis, and the historic National Road, now US 40, is its spine. On a map the old main street runs straight east to west, and the rest of the town has grown out from it. Interstate 70 passes to the south, and toward the airport the land turns into long warehouse rectangles.
White Lick Creek winds north to south through town, and the green corridor along it breaks up the grid of streets. Plainfield also has long Quaker roots. The Western Yearly Meeting of Friends has been based here for generations, which links the town to the religious communities that settled central Indiana.
A Plainfield map poster brings together three periods of American growth on one sheet. There is the straight nineteenth-century road, the looping cul-de-sacs of later suburbs, and the very large footprints of modern logistics. Printed in black and white, each layer is easy to tell apart, and together they make a map that is more varied than most suburbs.

White Lick Creek
The creek's meandering course and the parkland beside it cut through the neighbourhoods and add the only strong natural curve to an otherwise level plan.
Warehouse district
To the south and east, distribution centres appear as large, plain rectangles. Their scale contrasts sharply with the fine grain of the older streets.

Zašto Plainfield
Mapa koja nešto znači
Plainfield suits a first home near Indianapolis, a family that has been here a long time, or someone who has commuted along US 40 for years. The map treats a familiar suburb as a subject for design.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a street name or move-in date. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the room. Noir shows the creek line particularly well.
