Floodplain fields
The lowland is divided into long strips and rectangles by paths and ditches. It creates a delicate, regular pattern that fills much of the frame without feeling crowded.

Ribeira de Frades Map Poster & Print
Ribeira de Frades lies in the Mondego lowlands west of Coimbra, and its map is mostly about land and water. Cultivated plots cover much of the area in long, narrow strips. Irrigation and drainage channels cut straight lines through them, and the houses gather along roads that follow the slightly firmer ground. It is administered jointly with São Martinho do Bispo.
The built-up parts are modest and linear. Houses line a few main roads, and short lanes lead from them into the fields. The pattern is far less dense than the city a few kilometres east. Instead it has a quiet, repeating geometry that comes from generations of farming on a floodplain.
A Ribeira de Frades map poster suits anyone who prefers restraint. The strength of the print comes from spacing and rhythm: parallel field lines, a few firm roads and the long reach of the valley. Rendered in black and white, it looks less like a town plan and more like a study in texture. It works well in calm interiors.

Water channels
Straight drainage and irrigation cuts cross the valley floor. These engineered lines mark the managed landscape of the lower Mondego and add quiet structure to the composition.
Roadside settlement
Homes line the main roads in thin ribbons rather than blocks. On the poster they read as a few dense threads laid across open ground.

Zašto Ribeira de Frades
Mapa koja nešto znači
For families with roots in the Mondego valley, this map shows the land itself: the fields, the channels and the roads that connect the villages to Coimbra. It is an understated piece that will mean a lot to the people who know where to look.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a year. Then choose one of five styles. Paper and Sand bring out the agricultural texture, while Blueprint turns the channels into something closer to a technical drawing.
