This Sāhibganj lies in north Bihar, on the broad alluvial plain between the Himalayan foothills and the Ganges. It should not be confused with the better-known Sahibganj on the Ganges in Jharkhand. On a map it appears as a compact settlement where a market core meets roads leading off in several directions across flat, intensively farmed land.
